As I look at the future challenges of this country, I see securing a comfortable retirement for hard-working Americans as one in the top four. Others include health care, sustainability (energy, environment), and migration. I’ve chosen retirement security because it affects all americans and because my academic and professional background lends itself to the study of this issue. I also grew up in a family that experienced disruptive financial challenges during my teen years, so I have a strong empathetic perspective on this issue.
I think all of us can agree that experiencing a comfortable retirement is a worthy goal for all individuals. I don’t think all of us, however, will agree on the best path to achieve this outcome. The issues that create disagreement are philosophical, cultural, and financial and they involve government policies, individual behavior, and the financial services industry.
In this blog, I intend to informally express my thoughts on the retirement security theme, and hopefully, create an environment where spirited dialog can flourish.

Hi Matt -
I would be happy to speak with you – I’ll be traveling to Atlanta through Thursday evening, so most of this week is difficult. Give me a call Friday or next weekend if you’d like to discuss how I can be of help.
Thanks, Dave Ehrenthal 617-529-8795
